Freshwater drum (also called sheepshead) are one of Ohio’s most underrated game fish. They put up a tremendous fight on light tackle and are common in Lake Erie, the Ohio River, and larger reservoirs. Many walleye anglers catch drum as bycatch, but they’re increasingly targeted as a sport fish in their own right.
